It is Christmas Eve, and if you celebrate Christmas, I am sure you have many family traditions that you must follow every year. But I bet there is one you make sure never to forget: the family Christmas movie.
Every family has a movie that is the "Christmas" movie. Whether it be Home Alone, A Christmas Story, or even Die Hard, every year you sit around the TV and rewatch the same film again. It's honestly one of the best parts of the holidays (at least for me). It's simple, quick, and always brings a nice rush of nostalgia to the holidays.
However, it seems harder than ever to enjoy your Christmas movie. Streaming services play "hot potato" with Christmas movies so much that, depending on the day, your movie could be in a new place. That's why, if you still have your crusty family DVD of that movie you love, I would hold that dear. In fact, I would buy the highest quality version (4K Ultra HD or something similar) of that movie, rip it, and then be able to watch it whenever I want.
The last thing I want to do during the holidays is stress out about where to watch my favorite seasonal film. Holidays can already be stressful; the one activity that requires the least amount of work should not have stress added to it.
So keep your discs close and your family closer this Christmas.
